Cheryl Riner Hodge is an accomplished artist from Rome, Georgia. She was born in Seattle, Washington, and grew up in Savannah. She has also lived in Japan, England, New York, and South Carolina. Her principle medium is watercolor. She also enjoys pen and ink and custom painting furniture, tile and fabric. Her work is filled with detail and punctuated with light and vivid color. She finds inspiration in everything around her—people, places and things—and has been creating for approximately 17 years. Her professional development includes learning from several fine Southern artists, through workshops and classes. Her work can be found in many private and corporate collections throughout the United States and around the world. Her favorite subjects include florals, portraits, pet portraits, and buildings of interest and home portraits. She accepts a variety of commission work.

Artist Statement

"I have loved art and creating things for as long as I can remember. My creativity has taken many forms throughout my life. Due to several life-altering events and much encouragement from my family, I decided to try watercolor. After only one lesson I knew, that I found something special. Expressing myself through watercolor is at once satisfying and challenging—a learning process, unpredictable and liberating. Familiar things become fascinating—vivid colors, intricate details, light and shadows. My great escape."

Commissions are accepted.
