Lexi Beard, a senior at Pepperell High School, has been selected to display one of her paintings at the Georgia Capitol as part of the Art of Georgia exhibit.
Over 100 entries from artists throughout Northwest Georgia submitted artwork to be considered. Beard’s work will be displayed for six months at the Capitol starting in April.
“Downtown Vibe” was created during Beard’s participation in the annual Fire Fly Fling of the Rome Area Council for the Arts.
“I just tried to capture the spirit of the evening with my painting,” Beard said.
Beard will deliver her work to the Capitol on April 5 and will have the opportunity to meet Gov. Nathan Deal and his wife, Sandra Deal.
