About the organization

Rome Area Writers is open to everyone in the Rome/Floyd County area interested in the literary arts. Our motto is "Writers Helping Writers" and we provide a way for people to interact through readings, workshops, guest speakers, etc. We also publish the Lavender Mountain Anthology annually. It is a collection of works by members. We currently are on our 11th issue!

RAW meets the second Thursday of every month from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rome/Floyd County Library. Meetings are free and open to the public. Dues are $20 per year. Officers for the 2016 year: Paul Culotta, President; Gene Magnicheri, Vice President; Paul Moses, Treasurer; Emily Farmer, Secretary, and Dekie Hicks, Membership and Anthology.
